DAY 2-LAKE MANYARA

Today you start your safari. You head through the bustling city of Arusha and out towards Lake Manyara National Park. You travel through the beautiful Masai open grassland and rolling hills. While driving you will see Masai herding their cattle and goats. Just before the park entrance you drive through the small but busy village of Mto wa Mbu, famous for its population of up to 120 tribes and its lively, colourful atmosphere.

Arriving at Lake Manyara, you will enter the park and start your first game drive, first through lush forest and then out to open grassland and the lake edge. The birdlife in this park is a bird-watcher's paradise, with many endemic species. You can also expect to see a variety of animals, such as impala, elephants, dik-dik, bushbuck, hippos and, if you’re lucky, you might see the famous tree-climbing lions of Manyara.

DAY 3&4-SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK.

After breakfast at the lodge, you will begin a full-day game drive in the Serengeti. This park covers an area of 14,763 square kilometres and has a range of different habitats including open grasslands, marshes, forests and kopjes. You will spend the day moving around the different habitats looking for animals such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, elephants, hippos, impala, zebras, wildebeest, Grant's gazelle, Thomson’s gazelle and many others. There is a wide variety of bird life. The sheer size of this park and its amazing changing scenery makes this a day to remember.

DAY 5-NGORONGORO CRATER

After breakfast you head off on your final game drive in the Serengeti, enjoying the huge open spaces and variety of wildlife. You then head back through the Ngorongoro conservation area and to your lodge, where you may relax and enjoy the view of the forest with a cold drink.

DAY 6-NGORONGORO CRATER.

After breakfast you head off into the Ngorongoro conservation area for a crater tour. The crater – or Caldera, which is the correct term – is over 20 kilometres wide and approximately 600 metres deep. If you are lucky and have a clear day, from the bottom you will be able to see the whole way around the crater walls. Today you will do a game drive over the crater floor, through grassland and forest, and see the soda lake named Lake Makat. Ngorongoro Crater is famous for the presence of the Big Five – buffalos, black rhinos, elephants, lions and leopards. It also contains many other animals, such as cheetahs, zebras, hippos, serval cats, hyenas and wildebeest.

DAY 7-TOWN TOUR

Today you can have a lie-in and enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the camp before starting your final journey back to Arusha. Before reaching the town centre you will have a chance to stop at one of the largest curio shops in Tanzania or the Meserani Snake Park (optional activity at your own cost). You will then be taken to Arusha town or the international airport, depending on your plans.
