Day 1

Arrive in Arusha, Tanzania

Your guide will meet you at Kilimanjaro International Airport and escort you to tonight’s accommodations in Arusha. As local Tanzanians, our guides know the country with unrivaled familiarity, so you’ll be in good hands from the moment you land to the moment you leave.

Days 2–3

Lake Manyara National Park

Named Hemingway’s favorite park in all of Africa, Lake Manyara National Park is a classic Tanzanian destination: from its groundwater forest and elusive tree-climbing lions to hippos cooling off in the water and flamingos frolicking on the shoreline, its sights and sounds are unforgettable.

Day 4

Tarangire National Park

Days 5–6

Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Days 7–10

Depart Tanzania

March to May is the long rainy season. There are very few people on the mountain but the trail conditions can be very muddy, wet and snowy.

June is a transitional period that is characterized by low visibility and cold temperatures. It is considered the start of the climbing season.


November is the short rainy season. Precipitation is moderate compared to the long rainy season. Few visitors climb Kilimanjaro during the month.

CROWDED SEASONS AT THE MOUNTAIN





July to October is the busiest period on the mountain. It is dry but the temperatures are relatively cold. Visibility is great.
