Your best start possible - Sabora Plains
After breakfast, you'll transfer to Arusha airport for your flight to the Serengeti. You'll fly over the Great Rift Valley’s Gregory Rift, across the Ngorongoro Highlands and on to the Serengeti’s Western Corridor where we expect the herds to be during June/July each year. Enjoy lunch at Sasakwa Lodge and your first game drive onto the plains on your way to Sabora Plains Camp. Overnight at Sabora, with meals, drinks and drives included.
Transport: Lodge vehicle on game package
Day 3
Singita is the best in the business
This is your first full day on the plains. Sabora is the best place to find the herds during the beginning of the dry season because it gives you access to the northern banks of the Grumeti River as well as some wonderful plains just north of the river. Enjoy your drives with your camp vehicle and maybe have a post-lunch game of tennis. Overnight at Sabora Plains Camp, with meals, drinks and drives included.
Transport: Lodge vehicle on game package
Day 4
Enjoy lunch at Sasakwa
Spend your last day at Sabora with the migration (June /July) or go to look for big cats. Talk to your guide to make sure you get to see what you're looking for. You can include a horseback safari or guided walk, all inclusive in your Sabora options. Overnight at Sabora Plains Camp with your meals, drinks and activities included.
Transport: Lodge vehicle on game package
Day 5
Mara River Serengeti side
Start with a short flight to the northern Serengeti from the Grumeti Reserve's airstrip at Sasakwa, and head towards the front-end of the migration where you should be perfectly located on the banks of the Mara River on the Serengeti side. The best camp to stay at is Asilia’s Olakira Camp at the confluence of the Mara and Sand rivers, which is close to good traditional crossing points. Arrive at the camp for lunch and enjoy your first afternoon on the Mara River, Tanzania side, waiting for some river crossings. Overnight at Olakira Camp, with meals, drinks and drives included.
